Online auctions are an exciting way to bid on great items and support the organization at the same time. Follow these simple steps to bid on and, hopefully, win your auction items.
To access the auction
If auction is available, you can click on the auction link below Visitors on the main navigation.
You will first see the catalog of available auction items for this event. This catalog details the available auction items and inventory as well as the current bid price. If the auction does not allow online bidding, use the Web site to preview the items and prepare yourself for the live bidding. Otherwise, click the Bid button next to the auction item on which you wish to bid.
You will now be directed to the auction bid page. Here you can see all of the real-time bidding information on the auction items including:
Current minimum bid – the lowest bid that you can submit for that item. The lowest bid equals the current winning bid plus the bid increment. If there are multiple quantities for an item available, the minimum bid will be based on the lowest current winning bid.
Starting bid – the initial price set for that item at the start of the auction.
Bid increment – the minimum increment that you can bid above the current minimum bid.
Quantity – shows the number available for this specific item.
Auction ends – the date and time when the auction will no longer accept new bids and winners are selected.
For online auctions, you will need to register for the online auction if you have not done so already. It is free and only takes a couple of minutes.
Click on Register Here to be directed to the registration form.
If you are already a participant for this or any other event powered by us, simply click on click here to autofill the form. Enter the same username and password that you previously set up.
Otherwise, fill out the form choosing a username and password to register for the auction.
A valid credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover) is required for certain online auctions to register. If required, your credit card will not be charged until after you have won your bid.
Enter your username and password that you set up in the registration step above.
If there are multiple items available, enter the number of items you wish to bid on using the drop down box labeled Bid Quantity.
Select your bid amount using the drop-down box labeled Bid Amount. Your bidding choices range from the current minimum bid and go up by the minimum bid increment. Finally, click the Place Bid button.
Note: You can only have one bid for a given item under any given username. When bidding on multiple-quantity items (i.e., quantity of greater than 1), you can not change quantity of items you are bidding on after your first bid. If you wish to bid for more items, you will need to register again under a different username (go to Step 3).
Once you enter a bid, you will be sent an E-mail confirming your auctions items and your bid price. Your bid will be initially included in the current winning bids table at the bottom of the bid page until your bid is superceded by a new winning bid. This table will show auction visitors the following real-time information on the current winning bids:
Bidder – the full name, city and state of the current winning bidder.
Bid time – the time of the current winning bid. This is important in estimating the bidding activity for that particular item.
Bid price – the price for that current winning bid. The current minimum bid will be based on the current winning bid plus the bid increment
Quantity – the number of items selected by the bidder in that current winning bid.
Before the auction closes, be sure to return to the Web site and check on whether your bid is still winning by viewing the current winning bids table on the bid page. If your bid is no longer winning, you can then place another bid to try again.
If you win the auction you will either be sent an E-mail to inform you that you have won or the organization will contact you following the end of the auction. If you are sent an automated E-mail and you have entered your credit card number during the registration process, your credit card will be processed and the organization will contact you to provide you more information.
Note: Auction Rules: The binding contract of the auction is between the successful buyer and the organization. Please bid and buy carefully! Results are available for everyone to see, showing the price, the bidding history if applicable, and the name for the high buyers.
