My Webpage

If you are registered for the event, you can customize your own personal page with "point and click" artwork, YouTube video, and photos before spreading the word to your friends and family. You have the option to choose from a library of images provided by the organization or to upload a personal image or link to a video from your own computer.  The web page message and image caption are also customizable to provide a personal touch and to help motivate your online visitors. Lastly, you can choose from a variety of backgrounds/themes to spice up your Web page. Team captains also have the ability to customize their team page with a photo, YouTube video, and text.

Changing Your Personal Page Image

  1. Login to your personal headquarters. Show me how

  2. Click on Edit Personal Page underneath My Webpage on the headquarters menu.

  3. You may use the default image or select (see step 4) an image from the library or upload (see step 5) your own.

  4. To select one of the images from the library, click select.

  5. Search through the image library by clicking on the Prev and Next links.

  6. Click on the image thumbnail to view a full-sized version.

  7. When you find the image that you want to use, click the radio button next to the image.

  8.  Click the Assign button.

 

  1. To upload your own image, click upload.

  2. Click the Browse button.

  3. You will be directed to a pop-up window where you can browse for your image from your desktop (or any folder or drive accessible from your desktop).

  4. Find your image and click Open.

  5. Click the Submit button to submit your image.

  1. You can now edit your personal page further by adding custom text.

Note: Images must be "*.jpg" or "*.gif" file types and no more than 50KB in file size. We recommend that your images are less than 300 X 234 pixels. For more information on capturing and editing personal images, we have included a simple set of instructions on Image Editing.

Note: Some organizations will not allow you to upload your own image. If so, the Browse button will not be displayed.

Editing your Personal Page

  1. Login to your personal headquarters. Show me how

  2. Click on Edit Personal Page underneath My Webpage on the headquarters menu. Show me how

  3. You can also add a little fun by changing the theme of your page. Choose from the options in the drop down box labeled "Standard".

  4. Check out your new theme, by clicking on the Preview button. Go back and select a new theme until you are pleased with your choice.

  5. Type your personalize text in the text box labeled Caption under image. You can also type in personalized text in the text box labeled Edit the text. This text will be displayed on your personal page below your image.

 

  1. Once you are done setting up your page, you can click the Preview button. Your new personal page will pop-up in a new window. Click Close Window to go back to make more edits.

  2. Once you are satisfied with your personal page, click Submit. Your changes will be made immediately and your updated page will be live for your friends and family.

You can go back to Step 1. Or you can now go to Step 2 and spread the word about your fundraising efforts.

Changing Your Team Page Image

  1. Login to your personal headquarters. Show me how

  2. Click on Edit Team Page underneath My Webpage on the headquarters menu. Show me how

  3. You will be directed to the Team Page Editing Tool.

  4. Click on the Go button to change the image.

  5. You can select one of the images from the library:

  6. Search through the image library by clicking on the Prev and Next links.

  7. Click on the image thumbnail to view a full-sized version.

  8. When you find the image that you want to use, click the radio button next to the image.

  9.  Click the Assign button.

  3. You will be directed to the Team Page Editing Tool.

  4. Type your personalize text in the text box labeled Caption under image. You can also type in personalized text in the text box labeled Edit the text. This text will be displayed on your personal page below your image.

  1. Once you are done setting up your page, you can click the Preview button. Your new personal page will pop-up in a new window. Click Close Window to go back to make more edits.

  2. Once you are satisfied with your team page, click Submit. Your changes will be made immediately and your updated page will be live for your friends and family.

Add a YouTube video to your personal or team page

  1. Login to your personal headquarters. Show me how

  2. Select the My Webpage tab.

  3. Click Edit Personal Page. An editing page opens and the default video is displayed in the embedded Flash player.

Note: If you see a message stating that no videos were found in the video library, it is because your Sphere administrator did not add videos to the standard video library. Contact your administrator if you have questions. Additionally, if the Preview or Submit buttons in the editing page are grayed out, it is because your administrator did not add videos to the standard video library. You can always link to a video directly from YouTube and the buttons will become available.

  1. You may use the default video (see step 5), select a different video from the library (see step 6), or upload (link to) your own video (see step 7).

Note: If the video is no longer available on YouTube (or if YouTube only allows you to view a video from its Web site), you will receive a message when you attempt to play the video.

Note: You can only link to one video to your video library at a time. Each time you want to link to another video, you must first delete the current video by clicking Delete and then confirm the delete. Additionally, if you want to return to the list of videos your administrator added to the standard video library, you must first delete the video from your video library in order to return to the standard video library.

Delete a YouTube video from a personal or team page

If you want to delete a video from your standard video library, you must replace it with another video.

  1. Login to your personal headquarters. Show me how

  2. Select the My Webpage tab.

  3. Click Edit Personal Page. An editing page opens and the default video is displayed in the embedded Flash player.

  4. Click Select.

  5. If you know the URL for where the video is located on YouTube, enter it in the Enter YouTube video URL text box. The URL must begin with www.youtube.com. Otherwise, go directly to the YouTube Web site to locate the video you want to link to, copy and then paste the URL in the Enter your YouTube video URL text box.

  6. Click Submit to replace the video currently in your video library.

You can go back to Step 1 . Or you can now go to Step 2 and spread the word about your fundraising efforts.
