Advocacy Features

Friend or Foe - The first of its kind, the 'Friend or Foe' feature helps nonprofits affect legislative outcomes - not just react to results. The tool allows advocacy groups and supporters to send customized online communications based on a decision-maker's issue stance. For example, the feature enables a user to send different messages to two Senators with opposing positions on an issue - in a single action.

Automated Email Sequencing - Kintera allows administrators to set up an automated sequence of emails triggered based on responses during the sequence or on a set of conditions.

Advocacy Syndication - Kintera allows national organizations to syndicate action data between accounts-for example state chapters' action centers, getting your action in front of more activists thereby increasing the number of actions taken.

Multiple Language Capabilities - Create supporter e-mails and action centers in multiple languages to reach a wider audience. Letters to elected officials sent from translated action centers are automatically translated back into English.

Rotating Letters and Subject Lines to Targets - Kintera allows users to define multiple letters which activists can read and choose from, and multiple subject lines that are randomly displayed for activists, and also allows administrators to require that the subject lines be edited.

CC Targeting - Kintera allows administrators to set up actions with primary targets, and cc targets, and to have the letters sent to the targets display this information correctly, just as all advocacy organizations do with their offline communications.

Custom Target Web Forms - Kintera will craft Web forms for custom targets, and has staff dedicated to adapting our systems to the ever-changing Congressional Web forms.

U.S. Federal Bill Data - Kintera allows customers to post bills and voting records from real-time links to Congressional data.

Action Item Copy - Kintera allows users to copy an existing advocacy item for a new action item, significantly cutting down action set-up time as a bill moves from Committee, to House, to Senate, to Conference Committee, etc.

Letter to the Editor - Activists can voice their opinion to local and national media, including newspapers, radio, and television. Pre-populate letters with suggested text and allow activists to edit it as desired. Vary Your Message – Each action item can have multiple letters with differing content. Limit the number of letters sent to each media target, so your message can be heard effectively.

Legislative Scorecard Tool* - Assign elected officials a score based on their voting history and how it aligns with your organization’s mission. Display selected pieces of federal legislation, how legislators voted, and whether or not the legislation passed. View elected officials past and current votes. Customize legislation description and name in a manner that is meaningful to your supporters.
